At NICA: the main MPD detectors. 10th Collaboration Meeting of the MPD Experiment

The 10th collaboration meeting of the MPD (Multi-Purpose Detector) experiment was held at the Laboratory of High Energy Physics. In the Multipurpose MPD detector heavy ion beams will collide at the NICA collider complex, and this will happen at the end of 2023.

Assembly progress of the NICA collider at VBLHEP JINR

At the Laboratory of High Energy Physics (JINR) at the NICA accelerator complex, the assembly of the collider ring is actively underway. Cryostats are placed in the collider tunnel, inside which dipole modules are installed and suspended. Artem Galimov, Deputy Head of the Scientific and Experimental Department of Superconducting Magnets and Technologies, VBLHEP, JINR, tells about what remains to be done before a series of technological tests of the accelerator.

NICA: first superconducting magnet installed in collider tunnel

The first superconducting magnet has been installed in the collider tunnel of the NICA accelerator complex. This is another important milestone in the implementation of the megascience project after the Booster was launched, the installation of a large solenoidal magnet for the MPD multi-purpose detector was successfully completed, and the Booster–Nuclotron channel was technically launched.
